Physio To Ski Courses
Rediscover your passion for skiing.
Rediscover your passion for skiing after an injury and/or surgery.
Inspired to Ski have joined forces with leading chartered physiotherapist, Joy Walter, to design a highly professional package to return you to skiing again with confidence. From strains and ruptures to dislocations and joint replacements, we are confident that this carefully considered combination of care and instruction will be just what you need to return to you to form.
Joy Walter, from www.joywalterclinic.co.uk, offers a wealth of experience from working and participating in a wide range of sports – skiing, rugby, tennis, ultra distance running, from recreational to elite and national level. Joy specialises in sports injury prevention and screening, post injury and/or post surgical recovery and return to sport programmes.
The Physio to Ski course includes five half-day ski instruction sessions with Inspired to Ski’s All Mountain Performance course, plus three private physiotherapy sessions during the week. During the week, there will be the opportunity to take further physiotherapy, massage and core-strengthening sessions if applicable.
During the private physiotherapy sessions and as part of the expert advice package you should expect to receive:
Thorough pre-ski assessment and individualised prehab (further injury prevention)
Treatment (if appropriate)
Progressive exercises and stretches
Specialist advice for injury prevention
Post exercise recovery programme and individualised rehab (recovery) programme.
Joy Walter’s motto has always been “you must maximise your potential” within your sport. Her physiotherapy treatment is structured to help achieve this potential. It is with this attention to detail, and an enthusiasm for sport, that has led her to become a leading sports-injury physiotherapist. She herself has returned to skiing after surgery for complex knee problems.
Before we can confirm your place, we need you to complete our pre-course assessment, please email us for more information. It includes several questions about your injury/ and/or surgery and some simple mobility/flexibility assessment tasks that you must complete. This is to ensure you will get the most from your Physio to Ski course. Follow-up can be arranged on return to the UK if participants want or require it.
The Physio to Ski course is aimed at skiers level 3 – 6 only. It is not for beginner skiers.
