Val D’Isere
Val d’Isère is one of the most popular resorts in the French Alps and has managed to retain its beautiful traditional village feel. Elegant and cosmopolitan, with its origins in medieval hunting estates, Val d’Isère has an array of shops, bars, clubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. The combined lift systems of Val d’Isère and Tignes (the famous Espace Killy 300km of marked runs) offer some of the very best skiing and boarding in the world. The excellent lift system also provides access to some of the most exciting off-piste in the Alps, such as Le Tour du Charvet, Le Grand Vallon and the Col du Pers.
Accommodation
1. Chalet Le Lodge
Sleeps 60
New to Skiworld this winter, The Lodge was previously run as a small hotel and so enjoys all the benefits which you would expect from such a property. All bedrooms enjoy good levels of comfort with en suite facilities and many with balconies, there is a sociable lounge/bar area with a stone double-fronted fireplace through to the restaurant, and on sunny afternoons there is a large terrace to work on your goggle-marks. Sounds great already, but then Skiworld have got their hands on it and made it even better! Welcome to The Ski Lodge – catered chalet accommodation, only better. We added flat screen TVs and iPod docks to the bedrooms, a PlayStation to entertain the big kids on the giant plasma screen TV in the games room, heated boot warmers, ample ski storage and complimentary WiFi access. No modern ski accommodation would be complete without at least a sauna, Jacuzzi or steam room, so we added one of each too. The top floor boasts 2 spacious suites complete with small seating areas, ideal for families or a group of friends. Add to all this to our exciting new Ski Lodge service and you have the ultimate in ski holidays. Situated just off the main street in Val d’Isère at the top end of town, The Lodge is close enough to the action to make the most of this world class resort, yet enjoys just enough distance to find a little peace and quiet at the end of a day. The main lift station and ski school meeting points are an easy 500 metres (approx) walk through the picturesque old part of town, or even easier is to hop on the free and efficient bus service which stops just 200 metres from The Lodge. Alternatively, just 10 minutes on the bus further out of town will bring you to the long cruising pistes and glacier of Le Fornet.
